What To Know About Mortgage Loans

A first-time home buyer asking a loan officer about mortgage loans.

Being a first-time home buyer can be very confusing. Do you have lots of questions about lending and how the process works? I recently sat down with my daughter, Nicole, who is in those shoes, so she could ask many common questions, and you can watch that video here. We weren’t able to get to it all in one video, so we are continuing today! My preferred lender, Sebastian Rivera from Intercoastal Mortgage, will also be joining us to answer some critical questions about lending.

You can listen to each answer by watching the video above, or you can jump to specific questions by using these timestamps:

0:00 — Introducing everyone

0:47 — How do I begin to prepare to get a loan?

1:37 — How do I know what financial assistance I qualify for?

3:00 — How do my loans affect what I can qualify for?

3:53 — What determines good or bad credit?

5:46 — What should I do with income in cash that can’t be accounted for like regular income?

6:40 — How long should I have my paycheck history?

7:14 — Finishing up

If you have more questions that weren’t answered in this video, keep an eye out for part three of this new home buyer series. In the meantime, always feel free to call or email me with any real estate questions you may have!
