Since we’re coming up on the holidays, I thought it would be a good idea to share some home holiday hacks that I use in my own kitchen.

Hack No. 1: Hard Cookies

When you bake a fresh batch of cookies, they’re all nice and warm and soft. However, by the next day, they get hard. To keep your cookies soft, put them in a cookie jar with a piece of fresh bread. Believe it or not, the next day, your cookies will still be wonderfully soft.

Hack No. 2: Shredded Butter

During holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, we often use butter in our recipes. One of the things I like to do before cooking is to take some frozen butter and shred it on a cheese grater. You can put the shavings in a little baggie and refrigerate it; this will allow you to sprinkle butter into your recipes.

Hack No. 3: Portion Control

If you have chicken broth you want to use for stock or gravy, try pouring it into an ice cube tray and freezing it. Then you can scoop them out as needed! You can also try the ice cube tray hack for desserts for your little ones.
