● Rightsizing is about the function of the house. You are looking for the right space.

Rightsizing might mean moving to a smaller home, but that is not always the goal. For example, you might currently own a two-story home and decide to make a lateral move. This means moving to a single-story home that has the same square footage but is much easier to navigate.

The goal is not about getting less space, but choosing to change where and how you live so your home supports your current lifestyle.

Sometimes, rightsizing is about your environment. You might move to be closer to family, better medical care, or a neighborhood where you can walk to shops and cafes. It can even be about your yard. You could trade a large, high-maintenance backyard for a patio that requires zero upkeep.

Inside the house, rightsizing looks like getting rid of those formal living spaces you never use. Instead, you move into a home where you actually use every single room.

The bottom line is alignment. The goal is not about getting less space, but choosing to change where and how you live so your home supports your current lifestyle.
