Many ask me, "Terri, what does a real estate agent do?" To answer this, I decided to document a day in my life. Being a Real estate agent is full of surprises, from early morning meetings to unexpected emergencies. This is a behind-the-scenes look at what a day looks like as a real estate listing agent.

It's about 7:35 a.m., and I'm off to one of my listings to meet the painters and let them into the property. The owners already relocated out of the state and I'm in the process of getting the property ready to go on the market. As I arrived at the condo, the painters were already there but just as we were getting things underway, we discovered a gas leak that required immediate attention. We called the Fairfax County Fire Department to help us out in this situation.

"Keep it moving, ensure a positive outcome, and prevent any future accidents."

The gas line from the wall into the oven had a crack, so it was leaking gas. While shutting off the gas at the wall stopped the leak, the gas line needs some fixing before turning it back on to use it.

That wasn't how I expected my day to go, but like anything else, the best-laid plans can go astray. For me, you just need to keep it moving, ensure a positive outcome, and prevent any future accidents.
