Avoid buyer mistakes like not getting pre-approved for a better experience.
Do you want to know the biggest mistakes buyers are making today? I tell all my buyers to avoid three things if they want their home-buying experience to go smoothly.
1. Get pre-approved ASAP. You can enjoy house tours better when you’re pre-approved. It gives you a good idea of what you can afford and shows sellers you’re a serious buyer.
2. Don’t hold out for perfection. In reality, you’ll like about 80% to 90% of the houses you’ll look at. If you see one that you want, go for it. You can always make upgrades later on.
3. Avoid buying more than you can afford. Take a hard look at your budget, and don’t overextend yourself. Choose a comfortable property that fits your financial situation. A good question to ask yourself is, if something breaks and you need to fix it, will you be able to afford it?
